Turkey Massacre

The following pictures are graphic and may not be suitable for children under 10 years old.

Look only if you dare.

Can't say I didn't warn you.

The following took place at 1900 hours on Monday, November 16.

A turkey craft gone bad.

The only thing more fun than creating a turkey...

...is destroying it.

Gobble, gobble. Sad little turkey.

Party Time

Our niece turned 6 this weekend, a reminder of how fast time flies. We have to treasure these moments while we can.Queen Grandma and Princess Meaghan.Duchess Mike.Meaghan loves to tussle with her Uncle Mike.We sneaked in a couple photo. And it's half-way decent! :)Our nephew Christopher did a great job being silly and entertaining the boys. What are you cooking Jack?Schweddy balls? (Hopefully, you get the SNL reference.)I think Jack was trying to knock some sense into Mike. :)

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Your Change Can Make a Difference

Ring-a-ding-ding. It's the sound of the Salvation Army at stores everywhere. I took a turn this morning ringing the bells at a local grocery store. I was fortunate to have a fellow SA board member ring with me so the time flew. We had lovely weather. We ring again next month. Sure hope we get a crazy 60 degree day like today.

Towards the end of my shift, Mike brought my little helper - Jack! I put his little elf hat on and we spent a few more minutes ringing the bells.
Consider donating to the Salvation Army when you're out and about. The money funds programs throughout the year not just at Christmas time. Thanks!

My Jobs

For the most part, I like my job. Sure, there are days when it stinks, just like everyone else's job, but today was a good day.I interviewed several delegates from the Republic of Georgia for a co-worker's upcoming story. I love meeting people so this was an incredible opportunity.Of course, my favorite "job" is taking care of my boy.Cute things about Jack #110: When I put him to bed at night, he says, "'Night momma." And I say, "Goodnight baby." He keeps this up several times after I close his door. I go back in and tell him he needs to go to bed, tucking him in with another "I love you." He's a momma's boy and I sure love it!

Weekend in Review

We headed home to see my folks this weekend. What a gorgeous weekend. 70 degree weather. Wow! I almost felt like I was on vacation in the tropics. There are times when I wish we could have 70 degree weather and snow.GarrettGotcha!

Jack and Meaghan played in the little homes out back. Last week, when Jack and I arrived, Meaghan said, "Looks like we have neighbors." You never know what's going to pop out of her mouth.Jack decided he needed to feed kitty, so he kept "filling" his cup at the sink and shoving the cup in the kitty's face. Kitty is fine.Mom and Garrett.
Miss Meaghan on what she calls "soft grass."Of course, what's a weekend without a tractor ride. And Happy Birthday to me! What's a birthday celebration without some cake and hokey pictures! I love how Miss Meaghan is giving herself ears.

Cookie Time

I'm playing catch-up. Mike installed a different computer but things are getting back to normal in the "office."

Last week, I hit Wally World for some leftover Halloween bargains. One of the things I picked up was a cookie kit. I wasn't counting on the cookies tasting great, although they weren't bad. Jack loves to cook in the kitchen, whether helping mommy stir cupcake mix or just watching things cook. So, I thought he would probably love the opportunity to be creative and enjoy some yum yums too.Icing.Lick.Repeat.We had a lot of fun and enjoyed our delightfully scary snack.

More Halloween Pictures

Some additional Halloween snapshots as seen from mom's awesome camera.Don't worry. That's makeup, not jaundice under my eyes.Everyone in the family lovingly joked that Garrett could have dressed as Frankenstein because of his scar, but my cute little nephew went as a cheetah.Little Mermaid Meaghan.Again, the cutest bumble bee EVER. He's starting to get the whole "Say cheese!" cheesey smile thing.
