Wild & Wacky Animals

I took Jack to a small petting farm yesterday. He enjoyed feeding the camel carrots and apples. The poor donkey didn't get as many treats.

The owner got up close and personal with the camel.

Jack was so brave.

Although he actually preferred the chickens.

The place also had pigeons and fainting goats.

And I think this is a South African raccoon.

And Jack was brave enough to go on the trampoline. What a big boy!

Mother's Day Party

Jack and I attended a preschool Mother's Day program last week. We made several special Mother's Day gifts. These picures are taken with my video camera, not the best quality but they will have to do for now as I look into buying a new digital camera.

These lovely gifts were sent to someone very special, Jack's birth mom. Even though Jack enjoyed making crafts, the thing he looked forward to the most was eating the treat at the end. As soon as we arrived, he asked, "Where's treat?" A boy after my own stomach.

Guess who now has a swingset in his backyard?

A big thanks to my mom and dad who brought their truck and helped us dismantle, haul and then put the swingset back together.

Even Jack helped.

Mom tried to supervise the boys.

Then Mike tried to keep Jack preoccupied until his "playground" was ready.

Then, Jack gave it a go.

Outside Fun

We are enjoying the beautiful weather while it lasts. It looks like rainy days are headed our way just in time for the weekend. That would be two weekends in a row and that really bums me out.

We had fun riding tricycles and chasing each other tonight.

This is our dog, Molly. She is a gentle girl. I need to book her a grooming appointment. She looks like a mini Shaggy D.A. dog.

Sun Fun

It was a beautiful evening so I took Jack to the park tonight. He loves the park slides and sand, but he seemed to enjoy walking on the rocks even more.

What? You talkin' to me?

Fun at the Park

We are fortunate to live close to a nice park with lots of slides, swings and other fun things to do. Although the day started a little chilly, the afternoon was beautiful so Jack and I decided to go to the park.

He especially loved the slides and kept saying, "You can't catch me!"

Oh, really?

The park has two walkways built over a tiny creek. I guess Jack thought he was going to fall through the boards (perfectly safe), so he took a while to walk over them tonight.

Too cute! He's getting so big.

Tons of Trucks...and other vehicles

I took Jack to Tons of Trucks tonight, a free event sponsored by the city's Parks & Recreation department. Jack was a little clingy at first. Although he loved seeing the vehicles, they were a little overwhelming when we arrived.

We'd be next in line to see something and then he'd quickly change his mind.

His mood quickly improved after we discovered this ramp attached to a vehicle. It was like a mini park. He ran up and down it several times. It was hard to get him to move on to a different vehicle.

He also climbed into the back of a fire truck. I was really proud of him.

Saw friends, Doug and Codi and their daughter and Jen and Travis and their boys.

But the real fun for Jack began when he had the courage to climb on some tractors.

Turned on a light or two.

"Outta my way momma!"

"Here I come!"

We had a great time. I asked Jack, "What was your favorite part about the event?" He answered, "Riding in tractors was my favorite part." We'll be back again next year. As for this summer, he's ready to give Grandpa a hand. :)
