Talk at work got me to thinking about one of the first cars I drove - I called it the Eaglet, a brown Eagle sedan that had a beautiful brown cloth interior. Sense the sarcasm? It was souped up with an automatic foot washer. Just turn a corner and the car would release water in the front. I jokingly called this the Jesus mobile - you get the foot washing reference? This special feature wasn't just reserved for the driver. Oh, no. The front passenger also received this rare treat. Feet a little dusty? No worries. Unfortunately, the car was not equipped with an automatic dryer.

Giving Thanks
During the quiet moments at night when I am rocking Matthew and holding him close to my heart, I talk to God. I thank Him for my blessings, for four beautiful souls who are living with me that I am blessed to call my children.
I thank God that these four souls were given the opportunity to live. I thank God that their mothers decided to give them life. They didn't drink; they didn't smoke; they didn't do drugs while they were pregnant. They didn't have an abortion. They chose life for their babies.
Babies are helpless. Ask them if they're pro-choice. I bet you they'd tell you they're pro-life. It takes so much courage for a new soul to be born alive in today's world.
All my children are beautiful miracles.
I see the souls who gather peacefully to pray for the end of abortions at the local Planned Parenthood and think I should join them someday. I want to hold a sign that says, "I'll adopt your baby." No, I'm not Brad or Angelina. I'm not crazy rich. But I have a heart for children and adoption.
You can call me the crazy kid lady as opposed to the crazy cat lady. Call me the old woman and the shoe. I don't care. I love children.
And so I cry sometimes when I hold Matthew. I thank God that the world will have the opportunity to know these four precious souls. And I cry for the babies who are not given the chance to live. I would save them if I could. I wish I could adopt more children and let them experience the joy and warmth of a loving home.
And I thank my parents for the life they have given me. Without their love and support, I would not have grown into the person I am today.

Little Lady Bug
Miss Maggie as Madame Lady Bug
I can't believe Halloween is over! What a crazy day we had yesterday. I took all four kiddos in for their flu shots in the morning. Meanwhile, my hubby got the flu. Then, my parents helped me (well, let's just admit it; they did most of it) pull up carpet and paint one of our bedrooms.
With Mike being sick, I took all four kiddos trick-or-treating last night. Let's just say I still get into it way more than the boys do. Jack declared he doesn't like Halloween. After all, we walked quite a while in our small subdivision. And it's so cold! Why is Halloween held this time each year? :)
I couldn't find our pumpkin buckets so we used grocery bags and Liam dragged his on the ground and it started getting a hole in it. I made the boys let me carry their bags and that upset them - I guess they thought mommy would eat everything. We met some wonderful people in our neighborhood who gave us replacement bags. Liam's screeches were probably the scariest thing we heard last night, although Jack was too scared to approach one of the homes. They had a scary figure hanging from their porch. The nice woman actually brought him the treats because he wouldn't go near it. The woman's decoration was really awesome (I hope to decorate our house all crazy some year) but I could see where Jack was coming from.
As always, I have stated that I get 10% of the profit - so I've had two Snickers bars so far. I probably won't claim the entire 10% but wouldn't that be nice!
Sadly, I only took one photo last night, the cute shot of Maggie, because Mike was sleeping off the flu and it was so crazy getting everyone ready for trick-or-treating. :( I hope you had a wonderful evening!
